Cricademia: Levelling the Field for Young Athletes
An ambitious initiative designed to bring the game of cricket to life for young people across Leeds.
Cricademia Community Program
About Cricademia
Established in 2016, Cricademia began as a cricket coaching initiative and has since evolved into a thriving cricket hub. With a strong presence across Leeds, we’ve built a reputation for excellence in player development and community engagement.
Our journey includes:
- High-performance training for aspiring athletes
- One-to-one coaching tailored to individual growth
- Strength and conditioning programs designed for long-term success
- Community outreach initiatives that connect cricket with education, wellbeing, and inclusion
Cricademia continues to inspire and support local cricket talent, creating pathways for players of all backgrounds to thrive both on and off the pitch. The Community Program is the next chapter in this story—expanding our mission to reach even more young people across the city.
Program Overview
The Cricademia Community Program is a multi-dimensional youth development initiative rooted in the values of inclusion, growth, and collaboration. While cricket is the foundation, the program is designed to support young people in every aspect of their journey.
Key Focus Areas:
- Accessible cricket coaching and inclusive play
- Academic support and enrichment
- Leadership and life skills development
- Mental health and wellbeing education
- Community engagement and cultural exchange
This is not a one-off event or seasonal offering—it’s a sustained effort to build confidence, skills, and networks that last.
Partnership with Vimto
We’re proud to announce that Cricademia has secured a partnership with Vimto to help bring this program to life.
Vimto, a brand with deep roots in British culture and a global presence, shares our vision to creating meaningful change in communities. Their support reflects a broader vision to “make life taste better for everyone”—a purpose that extends beyond refreshment to social responsibility, youth wellbeing, and inclusive opportunity.
This collaboration is a powerful example of how brands and grassroots initiatives can work together to build a happier, healthier future.
Why It Matters
Young people across Leeds face a range of barriers to opportunity. Cricademia believes sport can be a powerful tool to break those barriers—but only when paired with education, mentorship, and community support.
Why this program is needed:
- Many youth lack access to structured extracurricular development
- Cricket offers a unique blend of physical, mental, and social benefits
- Communities thrive when young people are supported holistically
This program is designed to meet young people where they are—and help them grow into where they want to be.
Who's It For
The Community Program is open to:
- Young people aged 8–18 from all backgrounds and skill levels
- Families and caregivers looking for meaningful youth opportunities
- Schools, youth groups, and local organisations seeking partnerships
Special emphasis is placed on reaching communities that have historically had limited access to structured sport and development programs.
What the Program Offers
Cricademia’s Community Program includes a range of activities and support systems designed to empower young people holistically.
Program Features:
- Regular cricket training and inclusive play sessions
- Academic tutoring and study support
- Leadership workshops and personal development seminars
- Mental health awareness and resilience-building
- Cultural events and community-led initiatives
Each participant will have access to mentors, coaches, and educators who are committed to their growth—on and off the pitch.
Launching the Initiative
The program will officially begin with Cricademia’s first Community Day—a celebratory event that introduces the initiative to the public. While the day will feature cricket activities, music, food, and opportunities to meet the team, it is only the starting point for a much larger journey.
